PAK YAN LAU SOLO
Pak Yan Lau, née en Belgique, d'origine hongkongaise et actuellement basée à Bruxelles, est une artiste sonore, improvisatrice, musicienne et compositrice, qui a développé au fil des ans un univers sonore riche, dense et captivant, composé de pianos préparés, de pianos jouets, de synthétiseurs, d'électroniques et de divers objets sonores. En mêlant habilement des approches électro-acoustiques, elle explore le son de manière envoûtante, fusionnant différentes sources sonores avec poésie, magie et finesse.
Ses projets en solo ont été documentés, entre autres, sur l'excellent enregistrement « BOOKS » (2015), une magnifique trilogie d'objets en bois sortie sur le label Silent Water, où elle explore en 3 parties distinctes l'univers des synthétiseurs-samplers-électroniques, puis le monde des harmoniques et des basses métalliques des divers « pianos jouets », et enfin l'intérieur d'un grand piano préparé, transformant son son conventionnel en une toile sonore tendue et enveloppante.
FARIDA AMADOU & PAVEL TCHIKOV DUO
Farida Amadou est une musicienne basée à Bruxelles, en Belgique. La basse électrique est son instrument principal. Très tôt, Farida a commencé à plonger dans la musique d’improvisation et a rapidement été identifiée par les collectifs et musiciens locaux après des pratiques d’improvisation et des collaborations avec des musiciens tels que Thurston Moore, Peter Brötzmann, Julien Desprez, Dave Rempis, Chris Corsano, Andy Moor, Pat Thomas, Lukas Koenig, parmi d'autres collaborations occasionnelles comme Jerusalem in My Heart et Moor Mother.
S'il y a bien une musicienne au cours de la dernière décennie que l'on retrouve dans des contextes musicaux extrêmement divers, c'est la bassiste électrique belge et sculptrice sonore Farida Amadou. Non seulement vous pouvez apprécier la maîtrise infaillible qu'elle a de son instrument, mais aussi son pouvoir transformateur pour réinterpréter et étendre son matériel de manière spontanée et non conventionnelle.
Pavel Tchikov est un compositeur, multi-instrumentiste et improvisateur basé en Belgique.
Ses performances en solo couvrent une grande variété de genres et d'approches. De l'IDM microtonale semi-improvisée à rythmes impairs et modulaires, ou sa guitare modulée et ses voix durcies dans un pop expérimental, aux installations électroacoustiques motorisées et mécaniques en configurations multi-canaux.
L'approche artistique de Pavel est toujours liée à un état d'introspection, à la quête du sacré et à la nécessité d'une transformation intérieure perpétuelle et d'une guérison spirituelle. Tout cela prend une forme rationnelle dans la recherche de nouveaux timbres et de combinaisons d'éléments musicaux inattendus.

Pak Yan Lau, born in Belgium, with roots from Hong Kong and now based in Brussels is a sound artist, improviser, musician and composer, who has developed over the years a rich, dense and captivating sound universe from prepared pianos, toy pianos, synths, electronics and various sound objects. Skilfully blending electro-acoustic approaches, she explores sound in a bewitching way, merging different sound sources with poetry, magic and finesse.
Her solo efforts were documented among others on the excellent recording “BOOKS” (2015), magnificent wooden object-trilogy released on the Silent Water label where it explores in 3 distinct parts the world of synthesizers-samplers-electronics, then the world of harmonics and metallic basses of various “toy pianos”, and finally the interior of a prepared grand piano, transforming its conventional sound into an enveloping tense sound weave.

Farida Amadou is a musician based in Brussels, Belgium. The electric bass is her main instrument. Soon Farida started to dive into improvisation music, and got rapidly identified by local collectif and musicians after improvisation practice and collaborations with musicians like Thurston Moore, Peter Brötzmann, Julien Desprez, Dave Rempis, Chris Corsano, Andy Moor, Pat Thomas, Lukas Koenig among other occasional features such as Jerusalem in My Heart and Moor Mother.
If there's one musician in the last decade that you may hear in wildly diverse musical contexts it is Belgian electric bassist and sound sculptor Farida Amadou. Not only can you enjoy the unerringly skillful command she has over her instrument but also the transformative power to reinterpret and expand her material in spontaneous and unconventional ways.
Pavel Tchikov is a composer, multi-instrumentalist and improviser based in Belgium. His solo live performances spread over a large variety of genres and approaches. From modular semi-improvised odd-beat microtonal idm or his modular-processed guitar & hardtuned vocals experimental pop, to the motorized electroacoustic mechanical multi-channel set-ups. Pavel's artistic approach is always related to an introspective state of mind, to the quest of the sacred and to the need of a perpetual inner transformation and spiritual healing. All this takes a rational shape in the research of new timbres and combinations of unexpected musical elements.
